Mucyo Report Implicates France in 1994 Genocide

The long-awaited Report on the French role in the 1994 Genocide is finally out!!! Herein Rwanda Development Gateway Centre brings you a breakdown of the report that found France guilty of playing an active role in the genocide of 1994, in which about one million people were killed.

In this report released Tuesday, you will get full evidence that France was aware of preparations for the genocide and helped train the ethnic Hutu militia perpetrators.

It is now official. The French troops are accused of direct involvement in the killings. The report named 33 senior French military and political figures that it said should be prosecuted.

Among those named in the report were former French Prime Minister Dominique de Villepin and late President Francois Mitterrand.

Be ready to handle 500 pages of documented evidence like testimonies from genocide survivors, researchers, writers and reporters that took the Independent Commission almost two years to compile.

"The French support was of a political, military, diplomatic and logistic nature," the report said.

"Considering the gravity of the alleged facts, the Rwandan government asks competent authorities to undertake all necessary actions to bring the accused French political and military leaders to answer for their acts before justice."
