Ordinary people in Goma, DRC, struggling with economic consequences of war have accused rebel leader, Laurent Nkunda of waging a war that is beneficial to the whites.

Vendors in the eastern part of DRC where Nkunda's men have been fighting say the war is only beneficial to the white people and a few others.

They accused Nkunda of making money out of their suffering.

Deniece who runs a vegetable stall in north Kivu said the conflict is good for the well-paid members of the 18-nation Monuc peacekeeping force, aid agencies and news organisations.

However some people at the Kibati refugee camp hold a different view as they see the Monuc troops as their savior.
