South Africa ready to assist Angolan mining sector

Luanda  – The Republic of South Africa expressed
on Wednesday in Luanda, through the director
of the minerals and energy department,
Adv Sandile Nogxina, the possibility of granting
knowledge and technology to the Angolan
mining sector, a field in which it has a vast experience.

The information was granted in Luanda when

Adv Sandile Nogxina was speaking to the press

at the end of visits to Endiama and Sodiam diamond firms,

having stressed that there are conditions

for any South African company to operate in Angola,

thereby implementing the desire recently

expressed by the Heads of state of both countries

during the visit to Angola by

the South African President, Jacob Zuma.

South Africa wishes to intervene in all value chains

in Angola, mainly in natural resources,

upgrading of staff, as well as in the transference

of technology to be used in

diamond prospecting and mining", he stressed.

He added that the ways, volume of investments

and/or of partnerships to be implemented

resulting from the will expressed by

the two Presidents will only be known

after recommendations from a forum

to be held this Thursday

in the Angolan capital, Luanda.

The South African senior official said that

his country expects, from Angola,

an integral cooperation capable of facilitating

trade among businessmen of both countries,

through the elimination of institutional barriers,

so as to enable the use of resources

of the two nations for the reduction

of poverty in Africa.
