(Reuters) - Kenyan oil retailer KenolKobil (KENO.NR)
has bought Oil Burundi S.A. from Engen International
and three service stations from
an independent marketer,
its managing director said on Thursday
The acquisitions will increase KenolKobil's regional
presence to seven countries as it operates
in Rwanda, Zambia, Tanzania, Uganda and Ethiopia.
"Oil Burundi S.A. is a distributor of lubricants and
white products in Burundi and will be
a 100 percent subsidiary of KenolKobil,"
Jacob Segman said in a statement.
"We further advise that KenolKobil has acquired
three service stations branded SONITRA
in Burundi from an independent oil marketer."
The firm, which swung into a surprise first-half loss
due to oil price volatility, did not disclose
the value of the deal.
