The Presidential Debates, Live And In Three Languages on France 24 and FRANCE24.COM

As part of its special coverage of the 2008 American Presidential election, FRANCE 24 will broadcast, live and in their entirety, the four pre-electoral presidential debates. The debates will oppose the two candidates Barack Obama and John McCain and their running mates, Joe Biden and Sarah Palin.

The 8th of October at 03:00

Questions and Answers with an electoral panel

Second debate between Barack Obama and John McCain

Place: Belmont University, Nashville, Tennessee

The 16th of October at 03:00

Domestic and economic policy

Third and final debate between Barack Obama and John McCain

Place: Hofstra University, Hempstead, New York

The 4 debates will be broadcast in full with simultaneous translation for the French and Arabic* language channels.

On www.france24.com, web users the world over will also be able to follow the 4 debates live (live streaming) or afterwards on demand in the special report "USA 2008" compiled by the FRANCE 24 Internet team.

The four debates will also be rebroadcast throughout the day following their live broadcast.
