Rwanda's U-17 football team go into today's African U-17 championship qualifier against Sudan with caution of being tight at the back and looking for a killer earlier goal in order to advance to the next round.

The Junior Wasps, who defeated Sudan 2-1 thanks to Christian Uwumukiza's brace in first leg played in Khartoum a fortnight ago, go into the game at the newly renovated Amahoro stadium with one foot in the next round thanks to the away goals advantage.

Efforts by Times Sport to get a comment from the team's German tactician Michael Weiss were futile as he didn't return our calls.

The star youth studded side has been impressive in all the training sessions held in the past two weeks and it will be Weiss's duty to field a strong side as he has no injury worries ahead of the match.

A win or a draw for Rwanda this afternoon take them to the second and final round of the qualifiers where they will face the winner between Burkina Faso and Tunisia.

Burkina Faso faces Tunisia in a repeat of the 2010 World Cup/African Cup of Nations qualifying clash between the senior sides, while Reunion squares it off with Zimbabwe.

Elsewhere, in Windhoek, Namibia face Zambia as they fight for a place in the final round after a goalless draw in Lusaka.

In Tripoli, Libya must overturn a three-goal deficit against Ghana to go through while in Niamey, Niger will come up against Mali while Gambia is highly favored to return unscathed from the trip to Sierra Leone after a 4-1 advantage from the first leg.

Current World Champions, Nigeria treks to Benin to face the Junior Squirrels while Gabon host Cameroon in Libreville.

Guinea-Bissau will sort things out with neighbours, Guinea.

Guinea won the first leg 2-1 as Angola hosts Botswana in a rescheduled first leg clash with the return encounter fixed for Gaborone in a fortnight.
